About Us

We started Apna Ashiana Rehabilitation Home in 2017 to provide treatment and care to the neglected homeless mentally challenged persons and reunite them with their families.

These are the unfortunate men & women whom you often see wandering on the roads, lost in their own world, laughing and talking to themselves, with dirty long matted hair, half naked and skin & bones deteriorating. They may be just barely surviving on garbage, gutter water and whatever leftover food they can find. They are in much worse shape than the poorest of the poor because they have no one. They are on the roads for weeks/months/years without food, clothing or shelter. No one cares whether they live or die.

They are stripped of all human dignity, but we believe that they are humans and deserve a better life. We try our best and take care of their hygiene, food, hospital visits, medicines and rehabilitation.

We currently have 54 residents and we are really thankful for the donations by local residents of Karnal City, which is helping us run day to day operations.

Unfortunately, our Rehabilitation Home is fully occupied and we are finding it really hard to take in and help more homeless mentally challenged persons. We have partially acquired land behind our current home and we need your help to fully acquire land and start construction to expand our current facility.

This is the first time we are going for online crowdfunding as we want to show the world what we do and how they can help these individuals feel normal and loved.

Our Mission:
To rescue maximum number of homeless mentally challenged persons.
To provide free shelter, food and psychiatric treatment to the rescued.
To trace out addresses  & reunite them with their lost families.
To promote awareness regarding mentally challenged persons.
To network with Citizens, NGOs and Government Bodies to generate collective efforts.

If you believe in cause and want to help us, please donate.
